Pestana Tropico

“We had a very pleasant stay at the Hotel Pestana Trópico in Praia, Cape Verde. We would especially like to highlight the staff member Ana Melo. She was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and really made an effort to make guests feel welcome. Her service made our stay even more enjoyable. The pool area is also a big highlight. The pool is very relaxing and beautifully designed, surrounded by lovely bougainvillea plants. It’s a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the atmosphere. The breakfast was overall good, although a bit more variety in the selection would be nice. Overall, it is a good hotel with very friendly staff and a wonderful pool area.”

“It’s a nice hotel located in the heart of Praia, it’s close to a lot of places. The food in the restaurant is also really nice, friendly staff all through the hotel. I particularly loved the pool, not too deep and perfect for a chill day of relaxing. Overall, it’s a great hotel with a cozy ambience. My room was really spacious with beautiful paintings.”

“Clean Hotel with super Friendly Staff and reasonable Pricing. For me its 4,5 Stars. We are not in Europe - so there will always be things that you can‘t control. Only thing I would suggest - add one Trash Bin for the Room - another Bottle of Water of the Room is occupied by 2 - add another Toiletpaper and lastly Check the Shower Interior for functionality. These are peanuts - would still Recommend this Hotel to Everyone looking to go here. Thanks guys!”

“This is an honest review so that anyone who decides to stay here know what to expect. Pros: The hotel has truly amazing staff. They are all wonderful and helpful people. For service I give 10/10. Hotel is very close to the Quebra Canal beach and in close proximity to the restaurants. The room is clean, our room was cleaned everyday by wonderful women who were so polite and friendly, they were always smiling and greeted us wherever we saw them. Breakfast was good, but you will not find great variety of vegetables and greens. Everything else is available, including fresh fruits. Cons: Taking shower might become a bit messy because there is not a single hook to put your clothes. It's actually a small detail that makes a big difference in experiencing a convenient stay. The cleaning products have strong odour. It's not only smell of the products but also inhaling chemical toxins of products is just health hazardous. Let alone such a strong odour was intrusive. This is the only hotel that has strong harsh chemical smell of cleaning products I have ever stayed. And lastly, the biggest turn off was the hotels swimming pool. Basically, the swimming pool is covered with a giant plastic or some kind of silicone. When you step inside the pool you can feel water between plastic and your feet. I'm trying to say that swimming pool is not made of of tiles, it's a giant plastic. And It smells plastic. That is why I can't give more than 3 starts despite the staff was so lovely and just truly made our stay so easy and wonderful.”

“It has a beautiful garden/pool area and a good buffet breakfast with good choices. The coffee though is very average. The staffs are also not very happy, they are mostly grumpy and give you attitude a lot, for instance when you greet them when you enter, they make a face instead of responding. The receptionists are helpful and polite. Unless your room faces the garden/pool, the rooms itself are nothing especial. The bed is huge. However, you only get one bottle of 1.5L water throughout your stay, for the high price charged per night. The room is oldish, and dark. If you open your window to the view, then nice, otherwise it is gloomy and depressive. Slippers, iron, tea/coffee is not included in your room. You can ask the reception for an iron and slippers though.”
